5 Books We’ll Have At The Rebelle Market
At this year’s RebelleCon, we are setting up a market with some of our favorite books + more.
We are picky when it comes to books, especially reads in the “self improvement” category. While we love to learn more about how things work and the psychology behind why we do the things we do, we are not interested in quick fixes or advice not rooted in research.
That’s why we are vetting every book available in the Rebelle Market, a retail space we will host at this year’s RebelleCon (happening Nov 9-10).
We have welcomed all sorts of authors to our stage at RebelleCon over the years including Elaine Welteroth (memoir), Kate Baer (poems), Jessamyn Stanley (yoga/philosophy), Radha Agrawal (belonging) and others.
Expect to see the books below at our Rebelle Market along with a curated assortment of products made by women-owned companies.
Here are 5 books we know you’ll love:

Sisters Emily Nagoski, PhD, and Amelia Nagoski, DMA, are here to help end the cycle of feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Instead of asking us to ignore the very real obstacles and societal pressures that stand between women and well-being, they explain with compassion and optimism what we’re up against—and show us how to fight back.
More Than Enough
By: Elaine Welteroth
Past RebelleCon Speaker 2020
Tagline: Claiming Space for Who You Are (No Matter What They Say)
About: Throughout her life, Elaine Welteroth has climbed the ranks of media and fashion, shattering ceilings along the way. In this riveting and timely memoir, the groundbreaking journalist unpacks lessons on race, identity, and success through her own journey, from navigating her way as the unstoppable child of an unlikely interracial marriage in small-town California to finding herself on the frontlines of a modern movement for the next generation of change makers.
Playing Big
By: Tara Mohr
Tagline: Practical Wisdom for Women Who Want to Speak Up, Create, and Lead
About: A groundbreaking women’s leadership expert and popular conference speaker gives women the practical skills to voice and implement the changes they want to see—in themselves and in the world
In her coaching and programs for women, Tara Mohr saw how women were "playing small" in their lives and careers, were frustrated by it, and wanted to "play bigger." She has devised a proven way for them to achieve their dreams by playing big from the inside out.
What Kind of Woman
By: Kate Baer
Past RebelleCon Speaker 2020
About: A stunning and honest debut poetry collection about the beauty and hardships of being a woman in the world today, and the many roles we play - mother, partner, and friend.
Through poems that are as unforgettably beautiful as they are accessible, Kate Bear proves herself to truly be an exemplary voice in modern poetry. Her words make women feel seen in their own bodies, in their own marriages, and in their own lives. Her poems are those you share with your mother, your daughter, your sister, and your friends.
Come As You Are
By: Emily Nagoski PhD
Tagline: The Surprising New Science That Will Transform Your Sex Life
About: For much of the 20th and 21st centuries, women’s sexuality was an uncharted territory in science, studied far less frequently—and far less seriously—than its male counterpart.
That is, until Emily Nagoski’s Come As You Are, which used groundbreaking science and research to prove that the most important factor in creating and sustaining a sex life filled with confidence and joy is not what the parts are or how they’re organized but how you feel about them.
